The Inspired Eye

(The Inspired Eye by David duChemin)

I appreciate how the author points out that photography has an inner and outer meaning.  He also tells of the difficulties that artists go through and how it is hard, as a photographer, to portray your inner feelings through a piece of artwork.  He explains how this is the artists goal.  The author also brings up problems with the creative process.  As an artist we are given blank canvases and we are expected to create greatness.  However, this proposes a problem for artists.  How do you find your inspiration?  How do you continue to produce great work?  This are issues that artists struggle with all the time.  We have to put our hard work out in the world for other people’s judgement, and we have to take it.  But as artists, we continue to create work because it is what we enjoy, and we don’t care what others think about our artwork as long as we appreciate what we create.
